Our verdict: worth considering at $269 for gaming
If your priority is a 1440p OLED gaming screen below $300, this belongs on your shortlist. Choose it for a room where you can control reflections, and budget for a monitor arm if the fixed height does not suit your desk. For all-day static office work or a bright window-facing setup, compare LCD alternatives first.

The offer, without the sale hype
Walmart listed the VG277U Xbiip at $269, with free shipping for the selected Sacramento 95829 address. No coupon was shown as necessary. Delivery and availability depend on location.
The listing displays $80.99 off a $349.99 reference price. That is Walmart’s comparison, not evidence of an all-time low. Its holiday-return banner advertised returns until January 31; check the item’s applicable conditions before ordering.
What you get—and what to watch
| Feature | Buying implication |
|---|---|
| 27-inch, 2560 × 1440 QD-OLED; 240Hz | A gaming-focused combination of resolution and refresh rate. Your PC and settings determine the frame rate you actually achieve. |
| AMD FreeSync Premium | Adaptive refresh support for a compatible setup; it does not make a slow GPU faster. |
| 200-nit brightness; 400-nit peak | The retailer qualifies 400 nits as a 10% HDR-window figure. Do not read it as sustained full-screen brightness. |
| Glare screen surface; no height adjustment | Placement matters. Check reflections and eye level before choosing the supplied stand. |
| 100 × 100mm VESA mount | An alternative arm is possible; check its weight capacity and add that cost to your budget. |
| Two HDMI 2.1 ports; one DisplayPort 1.4 | Port labels alone do not establish every supported resolution/refresh combination. Confirm the required mode for your PC or console. |
| 0.03ms GtG, manufacturer-rated | A pixel-transition claim, not total input latency or our own test result. |
Burn-in: there is a published warranty commitment
Acer’s US OLED warranty statement explicitly provides three years of burn-in repair coverage. That is meaningful protection, but it does not make OLED immune to permanent image retention. Keep proof of purchase and review Acer’s applicable warranty terms; buyers outside the US should check local coverage.
Acer recommends enabling Image Retention Refresh, avoiding prolonged static content and allowing the screen to turn off when idle. Follow the monitor’s care instructions rather than assuming the refresh feature removes all risk.
Is it better value than the Alienware?
Dell’s AW2726DM was listed at $349.99 in our October 20 check, making this Acer $80.99 cheaper. That is a price comparison, not proof of equal picture quality. Our Alienware assessment includes independent testing and its connection limitations. We have not verified equivalent independent measurements for this exact Acer.
That distinction matters: the Acer earns consideration on its price and documented features, not an invented benchmark score. Compare our 1440p monitor shortlist if OLED is optional or your budget is lower.
Buy it for the right reason
- Consider it: you mainly play games, want OLED within a $300 monitor budget and can control room lighting.
- Skip it: you require high full-screen brightness, a height-adjustable stand included in the price, or a screen primarily for static dashboards.
- Wait for more testing: independently measured input lag, calibration or HDR performance is essential to your purchase.
During the return period, check text in your own applications, reflections at your usual desk position and the refresh rate available through your actual cable and graphics output. Do not stretch your budget simply because a listing has a discount badge.
