The BudgetComputers standard

Editorial and Product-Selection Policy

Our recommendations begin with the buyer's need—not the product link. This policy explains how products are researched, compared, selected, updated and corrected.

Updated October 13, 2026

1. Start with the decision

We define the intended buyer, use case and realistic budget before comparing products. A recommendation must solve a clear problem and explain who should choose it, who should avoid it and what trade-offs come with it.

2. Research and sources

We begin with manufacturer documentation, compatibility information and retailer listings. When useful, we consult credible independent testing and technical references. Specifications are cross-checked where possible, and sources or limitations are disclosed.

3. Hands-on testing claims

BudgetComputers does not describe a product as personally tested unless hands-on evaluation actually occurred. Research-based recommendations are identified as such. We do not publish numerical ratings without a documented, reproducible method and supporting evidence.

4. Product selection

Products may be evaluated for current value, performance, compatibility, limitations, build quality, warranty, support and features that materially improve the intended buyer's experience. Popularity, discount labels and high specifications alone do not guarantee a recommendation.

5. Prices and updates

Editorial review dates describe content revisions, not a live price check. Configuration guides and search links are not verified deals. Any specific deal recommendation requires an exact model, seller, conditions and time of verification. We do not continuously monitor retailer prices.

6. Affiliate independence

Affiliate availability does not buy a favourable verdict or guarantee inclusion. We may criticise an affiliate product, recommend a different option or advise the reader not to buy yet.

7. Corrections

When a material error is confirmed, we correct the page and reassess affected recommendations. Send the page URL and supporting details to conzop3@gmail.com.

Correction log

October 13, 2026: Removed unsupported monitor scores and fixed-budget build labels. Renamed category-based guides to buying guides, labelled Amazon searches, and clarified that content review dates do not verify current prices.

Our promise to BudgetProtectors: explain the trade-offs, respect the budget and never confuse an affiliate opportunity with proof of value.
