A worthwhile shortlist option for dim-room PC gaming. Bright-room users and HDMI-only buyers should look closer.

BudgetProtector verdict: reassess at the higher price

The earlier $319.99 offer has changed: Dell listed $349.99 on October 20, 2026, an increase of $30. Our earlier value assessment should not be treated as a recommendation at any price. The monitor remains an option for dim-room PC gaming, but compare current alternatives before committing. Do not buy it simply because the listing says “240Hz” or “HDMI 2.1.” Your connection and room matter.

The Dell offer has changed

Dell listed the AW2726DM at $349.99 on October 20, 2026. The $319.99 price reported in our original October 16 assessment is no longer the advertised offer.

At the higher price, compare other 1440p OLED monitors before buying. We are not calling this an all-time low or a fresh discount. Confirm the final total, delivery availability and return terms at checkout.

The specifications that change the decision

Manufacturer specifications and practical implications
FeatureWhat it means for you
26.5-inch viewable QD-OLED; 2560 × 1440A 27-inch-class gaming screen, not 4K.
DisplayPort 1.4: up to 1440p/240HzUse a compatible DisplayPort connection for the full refresh rate.
HDMI: up to 1440p/120HzDell labels it HDMI 2.1 TMDS; this does not provide the same capability as high-bandwidth FRL HDMI.
No USB-C or USB hubIt will not replace a laptop dock.
Three-year OLED burn-in warrantyUseful protection, subject to Dell’s terms; not immunity to burn-in.

What independent testing found

RTINGS’ tested review, updated October 5, reports sharp motion and deep blacks in a dark room, but limited brightness, raised black levels under bright lighting, and oversaturated colours before calibration. Its findings make this easier to recommend for a controlled gaming environment than as an all-purpose office purchase.

TechSpot’s measurements reinforce the brightness compromise: approximately 186 nits full-screen HDR and 380 nits in small-window tests. Brightness varies with the size and content of the image on screen. OLED contrast is a benefit here; premium HDR brightness is not.

How to compare the next model up

Dell listed the AW2725D at $399.99 on October 16: an $80 step up, or about 25%. That model offers 280Hz, HDMI support for QHD/280Hz, USB connectivity and DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. The connector capabilities are particularly relevant if your system relies on HDMI. Certification alone is not a complete picture-quality comparison.

Compare today’s price gap: the $80 difference above is historical, not a current quote. Check both models again. The AW2726DM’s limitations may be acceptable with DisplayPort and a dim room; investigate the higher model if connectivity or HDR capability matters more. If you already own a good high-refresh screen, neither price creates an obligation to upgrade.

Where to buy

Check Dell’s current price against alternatives; the original discount is no longer available at the price we reported. If you compare listings on Amazon or eBay, match the exact AW2726DM model and check whether it is new, open-box or refurbished. A lower headline price is only worthwhile if the final cost, seller’s return policy and warranty cover suit your needs.
